This episode marks the end of our residency tenure at Hal & Al’s here in Columbus. It’s been a great year and many thanks go out to those who came out and supported us! Extra thanks goes out to the great Hal & Al’s staff, past and present. This is a two-hour glimpse into a night that featured a wealth of spectacular 2010 material. Highlights include new music from !!!, a wonderfully bizarre single from newcomer Forest Swords, the latest single from Washed Out, Javelin remixing HEALTH, the colorful sounds of Baths, more bounce from Actress, and magic from the synth-wielding Oneohtrix Point Never.

Be sure to keep an eye out on the site for future live shows. Since we are often asked, booking info should be sent to dj@beatoracle.net. Thanks for tuning in.

The A/C did its best to keep up in the studio, but only a cold glass of lemonade could keep us cool after two hours of heat brought forth this week. The show starts in form with a rare gem from Charanjit Singh and moves into new tracks from Noisia, J Dilla, Matthew Dear, Hexstatic and Maps and Diagrams. The second hour starts with electro from Tim Tetlow then some new releases from old electronic music names like The Chemical Brothers and Orbital. New tracks also in this hour from Four Tet, Primary 1, and Klute.

Things got under way with some new dubstep releases from Falty DL, The Others, Joker & TC, Guido, and Mount Kimbie. After slowing things down a bit, the mix turned towards new tracks from Hyperdub boss Kode9 and roster mates Ill Blu, and Ikonika. The second half features the triumphant return of Machinedrum (did he ever really leave?), Bullion remixing Osbourne, and a fresh song from Major Lazer’s latest EP. Thanks for tuning in.

This week we’ve got a special contest for a special live show. The first 75 minutes are packed with dance-floor classics mixed and recorded live by Michael from The Beat Oracle at a most special occasion: our friends Bryan (aka Deaf Dot Electrics, frequent TBO contributor) and Jayme’s wedding celebration in Manhattan. You’ve heard all of these tracks in the archives. So, instead of listing the playlist as per usual, we’ve decided to have some fun. The first listener to e-mail us at dj [at] beatoracle [dot] net with the correct playlist (just artist and track name will do) for the first 75 minutes will win a shipment of Beat Oracle goodies.

The second hour of the show features a guest mix from our friend Adam recorded live in July at Hal & Al’s. His awesome eclectic mix spans from reggae to drum’n'bass & hip-hop. Adam shows us again why we’re never disappointed when our friends mix for us.
