12/08/2012: Settled Dust

This week’s show drifts along with a number of lengthy, shapeshifting tracks. In the mix: Ripperton remixes Ellen Allien, Taylor Deupree returns with another sparse gem, Emeralds continues to expand upon their adventurous experiments, Dalot remixes labelmates To Destroy a City, Marcus Marr releases “the Music” for DFA, Unspecified Enemies unleash some maximalist sounds, Ulrich Schnauss and ASC team up on a new EP, Vladislav Delay releases a new album for Raster-Noton, and Pole continues to be an innovative force.

Next week, tune in for the first part of our 2012 retrospective. We will be playing some selections from our favorite albums of the year. Cheers.

12/01/2012: Binary

It’s an upwardly mobile, tax deductible, proof positive, fact checked, rip roaring, gut busted, two hour PhD in future music…

Starring significant new sounds from: Ron Gibbs (as “RxGibbs”), Erwan Castex (as “Rone”), Luke Blair (as “Lukid”), Jonas Munk (as “Manual”), Kevin McAuley (as “Pangaea”), James Shaw (as “Sigha”), Steve Hauschildt ( as himself), Daniel Richmond (as “Clubroot”), and Vlad Kudryavtsev (as “Monokle”). Enjoy!

11/17/2012: Jovian Architecture

After a long, sleepy walk through the wilderness, we came across a glowing box of songs. We opened it, and this is what came out: New music from Ludique’s latest album, the Arapaima X mix of Liar’s fantastic “Giulia,” Tensnake remixing Osborne’s “16th Stage,”, dense psych from Tame Impala, spastic synths from Mouse on Mars, the fuzzed out warmth of Jessica Bailiff, analogue tape ambience from Semya, a love song from the United States of America, and new sounds from Christopher Rau on Smallville Records. That’s what happened one Saturday night.

11/10/2012: Oscillation

This week we return from the edge of madness to bring you an episode full of delightful new releases. Delta Funktionen kicks things off with “Frozen Land” from his lovely debut album “Traces.” Physical Therapy drop a wonderful EP for the Hippos In Tanks label. Yagya invites us to share in the inescapable decay of his heart. Tim Hecker and Daniel Lopatin join forces to create robo-noise-bliss. Andy Stott beautifully conveys life’s “Luxury Problems.” Marcel Fengler keeps things frantic for Ostgut Ton. Tonikom returns with the wonderful album “Found and Lost.” Lindstrøm rides his signature beat towards the sky. Emeralds bring the “Adrenochrome” to the final third. The easiest thing to do is to press play.

11/03/2012: Escalating Spin Cube

It was a rocky ride back from Space Zone 5 for Kenny Lectro and Psynewave. Those asteroids just keep getting smarter. “Next time we’ll have to pack extra peanut butter in our rocketpacks.” This latest off-world journey is soundtracked by new finds like Southern Shores, Aebeloe, Liar and returning sonic chefs Burial, Tycho, and Invisible Allies. The second hour features a guest mix from The Beat Oracle’s latest collaborator: Psynewave. Put on headphones and travel to those far off inner spaces.
