This week we said a bittersweet goodbye to the Sells Studio, our recording home for the past three and a half years. Much has changed since our first session in Columbus, and this episode provides a fitting end, as it spans the diverse, immense world of today’s best future music. It’s a mix dominated with new releases, including some new gems from Com Truise, Washed Out, Lone (remixing Steffi), Deepchord, John Tejada, Laurel Halo, Holy Other, and many more. Thanks to everyone who has sent their feedback, music (we’re listening), or attended a gig. Until next week…cheers.

It’s a broad maze of beats this week, with a bit of bass for everyone. New releases from Clams Casino and Samiyam kick things off, while classic tracks from Detroit legends Urban Tribe and Kenny Larkin continue to provide an education. Miracle Fortress informs us of “Miscalculations,” and Peter Van Hoesen remixes Mount Kimbie to round out the first half. Hour-two features a new single from Planet Mu artist Kuedo, brilliant new dub from LV & Joshua Idehen, the haunting sounds of the Caretaker, Jacques Greene remixing Radiohead, and the fantastic, infectious new single from Little Dragon. Listen and get lost.

Three sections for wandering minds: Michael’s set kicks things off with a mixture of classic singles and great new releases from the likes of Zomby, who shines with his terrific new full-length on 4AD. You’ll hear the Nacho Lovers remix Jacques Greene’s latest single, and Addison Groove creates some truly frenetic “Minutes of Funk.” Joseph showcases new releases from some of experimental music’s most venerable labels, with tracks from Fourcolor’s latest on 12k, legends Alva Noto and Ryuichi Sakamoto collaborating once more for Raster-Noton, and the return of Biosphere, who crafts a haunting album for Touch records. Later in the show, Kenny brings the tempo back up with a beautiful, epic new single from Coma, and dusts off a stellar single from Gui Boratto. It’s a packed episode, filled with tunes from Radiohead, SBTRKT, and many more. Thanks for tuning in!

There was 80% cloud cover over the Sells Studio while recording, which may have informed this hazy two hours of music. Wonderful new releases from Dominik Eulberg, Holy Other, Kangding Ray, and Mountains round out a melodic first hour. In hour two there are new singles from Pangaea, Addison Groove, and fresh tracks from Emalkay and System 7’s respective new full lengths.
Local listeners: stop by The Brothers Drake this Friday night, June 24th, to hear us spin some future music as you enjoy some fine, locally crafted Mead.
