09/24/2011: Between Margins

This week we fell down the chimney, and crawled between the walls with new music from Scuba, Motor City Drum Ensemble, George FItzgerald, Alva Noto, the Field, and DJ Shadow! A second hour took us through the latest sounds from Gui Boratto, Neon Indian, M83, and legendary Warp records duo Plaid! Yep. Up there with ice cream…

09/17/2011: Shadow Jumping Showdown

This week sees two new guest DJs diving deep into their respective favorite genres. First up is Textbeak with his MARBLEHEADPLATEMIX, an introduction into Darkwave and a reminder of electronic music’s shrouded past with flourishes of industrial and EBM. Shortly into the second hour longtime friend of The Beat Oracle, Mark (aka Vimmington), drags ears into the dirt with a slew of dubstep tracks. Standouts have the weirdest names: Mr. Kitty & Where’s Huey?

09/10/2011: At the Center of NGC 6302

This week, we present the fourth edition in our annual “Slowly” series. It is similar in theme to our 2008, 2009 and 2010 mixes. It is a collage of hushed, sometimes drowsy sounds. For this reason, the duration of the show will be uninterrupted by voice. For a satisfactory listening experience we recommend finding a comfortable pair of headphones or a nice stereo, and a quiet place.

(Sorry, no time-stamps as of now)

09/03/2011: Uprising

It’s a special week as Michael returns to the regular rotation! And what a return! In hour-one, he drops some great new releases, including a track from Apparat’s forthcoming LP “The Devil’s Walk,” new music from Free the Robots, Lukid, and Detroit legend Omar-S, who has a brand new LP: “It Can Be Done But Only I Can Do It.” Joseph takes over with a dub-tinged hour-two, and features new cuts from Pursuit Grooves, Cosmin TRG, Falty DL remixing Sepalcure, and Bok Bok’s latest on the Night Slugs label. Seek shelter…
