09/25/2010: Friends Of Funk

Two friends took over the show this week, each bringing a mix that is sure to make you move. The first hour is a total “Clusterfunk,” courtesy of Columbus’ own Self Help. It’s a packed set, featuring a diverse range of classic tracks and exclusive remixes that showcase why Self Help is a true rising talent.

The second hour showcases longtime friend Ruckus Roboticus‘ latest mix, “I Love You But I’ve Chosen Disco.” It highlights some of the best Funk and Disco inspired tracks in recent months. Will these sounds serve as an inspiration for Ruckus’ awaited new album? Time will tell. In the meantime, clear some floor space and enjoy.

09/18/2010: Circling SGR A*

This week, we present another special edition from our “Slowly” series. It is a follow-up to similarly themed 2008 and 2009 mixes. It is a collage of hushed, sometimes drowsy sounds. For this reason, the duration of the show will be uninterrupted by voice. For a satisfactory listening experience we recommend finding a comfortable pair of headphones or a nice nice hifi, and a quiet place.

09/11/2010: Neighborhood Watch

Recorded live from an undisclosed location, this week’s edition features three distinct sets. The first comes courtesy of Joseph, and features some sublime new beats from TOKiMONSTA’s debut album, an introduction to Planet Mu upstarts Solar Bears, and some 90’s atmospherics from Knxwledge. Michael brings some darker material in part-two, dropping new tunes from Lorn’s latest EP, Squarepusher’s new single (as Shobaleader One), and another gem from Matthew Dear’s latest album. Things wrap up with Kenny Lectro’s set for restless feet, and showcases some dance favorites from Alan Braxe, Tensnake, and the spastic offerings of Hudson Mohawke. Plug in.

08/28/2010: Strode Rode

We took a week off from posting, but did air an episode last Saturday. The first part reveals some brand new soul and hip-hop releases from Madlib, Maker, and Andreya Triana, who has just released a stunning debut on Ninja Tune. There’s a new track from DJ Vadim, Nosaj Thing remixing Daedelus, and some excellent singles from Cooly G, Redinho, and Oneohtrix Point Never (feat. Antony and Fennesz). As ever, it’s two hours of top notch future music.

We’ve got some great shows on the way, including the third part of our annual Slowly/ambient series. Thanks for tuning in!
