05/28/2011: Open Windows

This week we present three sets to suit a variety of spring evenings. Whether you’re in a car packed full of friends, seeking shelter in your basement, out for a walk, or staying stationary…the next two hours of future music has a bit of it all. Kenny kicks things off with some self-released gems, including a great track from Baths, and Ben Benjamin, a recent Ghostly International discovery. Joseph features some top 2011 House releases from Robag Wruhme, Virgo Four, and Thomas Bjerring. Michael closes strong with an assortment of new releases from Boxcutter, Tokimonsta, SBTRKT, and a cut from Emalkay’s debut LP. Not to dissapoint! Thanks for tuning in!

05/21/2011: Query

It was a busy weekend of dj-ing, surviving end times, and selecting songs for this week’s edition of the show. Joseph starts hour-one with new music from Peaking Lights, Toro Y Moi, GGD, and another cut from James Pants’ latest warped pop album, “Love Kraft.” Kenny mixes up the tempo with some beautiful electronic tones courtesy of Seekae, Ott, and a new track from Hyetal’s debut album,”Broadcast.” Michael wraps up the last third of the show with a brilliant pair of remixes from Machinedrum, the latest from Kode9 & the Spaceape, and the genre-defying producer 2562. It’s all part of a well balanced diet of sound.

05/14/2011: Return And Returning

This week’s show was recorded live at Hal & Al’s. It’s been nearly a year since we played our last show there, and it was great to be back. Michael kicks things off with new music from tUnE-yArDs, Panda Bear, Instra:Mental, and the title track from the Sea and Cake’s lovely “The Moonlight Butterfly.” Joseph drops a song from the Numero Group’s lost-gem reissue of Willie Wright’s “Telling the Truth,” Jamie XX reworking Gil-Scott Heron, and Autechre’s beautifully epic “Goz Quarter.” Kenny swoons over Jamie Woon’s night air serenading, Bibio’s latest kaliedoscope of sound, and a brand new WhoMadeWho release on Kompakt records. Join us this coming Friday, May 20th for another live night of Future Music at Hal & Als. Thanks for listening.

05/07/2011: Fresh!

Our friend Scott Warner allowed us to air his latest installment of Fresh! from Dirtyradio this week. Once we heard the mix, we knew we needed to share it. New tracks from Gang Gang Dance, Junior Boys and Peaking Lights are mixed alongside Detroit classics from Drexciya & DJ Rolando. New and old, techno and rock, straightforward and experimental. This mix comes together through Scott’s ability to find impeccable tracks. Enjoy!
